It took us a long time to find the right roofer, and Kevin and Excel Roofing and Siding were worth the extra time it took to find him. Kevin was the only roofer that was willing to talk, numerous times, with our insurance company (and meet with them at our house) to ensure that the damage to our existing roof would be fully covered. The final roof was beautiful, and we are thrilled with the copper work that was replaced. When I contacted Kevin, I had already been trying to get in touch with two other roofers for days and had mostly been ignored. When I called the company phone number, Kevin himself immediately picked up despite being in the middle of a dentist appointment. He told me to text him since he could not talk (as his mouth was being numbed), and he instantly responded from the dental chair! He promised to be out to the house the very next day at 8am. Kevin showed up ON TIME, was respectful of our home, and used his drone to get a full perspective of our chimney issues. Our chimney had been leaking into the house and causing damage to our ceiling. He used photos from the drone and from previous projects to show us what our chimney was lacking and what he and his team could do to fix it. After spending a half an hour with Kevin, we knew we had found someone who truly cared about our home as much as we did. When I asked him if there was any way he could fit us in the next week, he rearranged his schedule to make our house a priority. Sure enough, Kevin and his team were out for numerous days throughout the next week from early morning, sometimes until after we came home from work! Frank was the foreman on the project and he walked me through everything he was doing and the different pieces of the project. Whenever Kevin and Frank found any additional issues like missing roof shingles or dirt on the chimney, they rectified it at no further charge. Frank even painted our chimney to match the house! I could not be more pleased with Excel Roofing and Siding, and Kevin was there every step of the way, actively being on site to answer questions every day. When it comes to roof issues, timeliness and quality work are imperative. These two values were imparted throughout the entire process. I would absolutely recommend Excel Roofing and Siding to other home owners.

My wife and I recently moved to Haddonfield, NJ and decided to have the entire exterior of our new home updated (new roof, siding, trim and gutters/downspouts). After doing considerable research and speaking with various companies working around town, we decided to go with Kevin Creighton's firm, Excel Roofing and Siding.
When we first rang Excel, we were surprised to have the call answered by Kevin himself rather than an office admin / answering service and, after meeting Kevin, hearing his proposals and seeing first hand examples of work Excel Roofing and Siding had done in the area, our decision on who to use was an easy one to make.
Kevin and his team (Billy, Mike, Walter, et.al) were exceptional - every morning, Kevin would explain the plan for that day's work and who would be working. The explanations were very detail oriented and comprehensive. He was always there to answer questions, patiently listen to our requests and accommodate our proposed changes as the project progressed. The quality of the work performed throughout all phases of the project was excellent and they were always very conscientious about doing a thorough clean-up at the end of every work day.
In brief, everything from the initial consultation through to the completion of the project was handled with the utmost integrity, efficiency, professionalism, and courtesy. We are absolutely delighted with the results of their work and would not hesitate to use them again.

We hired Excel Roofing and Siding to replace our old eavestroughs and downspouts with new copper ones. Kevin did an excellent job at coordinating everything and supervising, while Billy was superb in custom design, producing, and fitting the new guttering system. He designed clever cleanout ports for the downspouts. Over the 20 years we have been in our house, we have little by little gotten most of our eavestroughs and downspouts replaced with copper ones (as were original on the house), by a number of different roofers. Excel Roofing and Siding were the best - for excellence of work, for promptness, for being very pleasant to work with, for cleaning up after themselves. We have not a single thing to complain about. A+ all around!

In getting estimates for our shingle roof replacement, we contacted two other companies, and we are glad we went ahead and got a third one which was Excel Roofing and Siding. Not only was he the most personable owner, he took time to explain every aspect of the project, even showing videos of various homes in the area and supplying reference names.
Other companies were in a hurry, one just giving a driveway estimate, pulling in, doing a quick measurement and quoting us a price. Kevin took his time, no pressuring for added work and what really impressed us was when he entered our home, he took his shoes off. Maybe not a big deal, but that showed us respect for our home which meant him, and his crew would show the same doing the job.
The Excel Roofing and Siding crew made sure every area of lawn and garden at the work zone was tarped to catch falling debris. At the end of each work day they were meticulous in making sure every bit of trash was removed and area’s swept where needed.
The chimney flashing was done by an excellent coppersmith who was a wizard with cutting, fitting and making sure this crucial part of the project was done correctly.
We have had a number of contractors work for us, but none had shown the integrity, the willingness to put the homeowner first in the project.
In today’s world of hurry up and move on to the next job, Excel Roofing and Siding Roofing and Siding has shown the customer that taking time to do the job right the first is of the utmost importance.

When we realized we could wait no longer to do our roof, I sent an SOS to my Merion Park (located in Merion Station, PA) neighbors asking them who they could recommend to install a new roof. I received more do not use x replies then recommendations. The neighbor who recommended Kevin spoke about his attentiveness and attention to detail during the process. Kevin and all his workers were excellent! The only delays were weather related which wasn't really a surprise since the new roof was installed in December. Kevin emailed/texted progress pictures and updates regularly. The new roof looks fantastic and really gave the house a facelift. We couldn't be more pleased with the job.

Last year I sent an email to Excel Roofing and Siding via their website on Sunday and got a return phone call the very next day from Kevin. At the time was looking to start performing some routine maintenance on our slate roof (inherited a 100+ year old original slate roof). He was very honest at the time and said it wasn't worth sending anyone up there because it would just damage the fragile slate.
Fast forward 6 months and the winter storms really did some damage, so I called Kevin again and we started planning out our replacement roof! Kevin, and his entire crew, are just as passionate about quality & design & workmanship as my wife and I are about the character of our old Victorian house. We came up with an awesome reproduction design, including copper pole gutters!
The quality of the work and the experience of the crew is hands down some of the BEST in the area, I mean OVER 5 stars. Added bonus????? The job came in ON BUDGET and ON TIME!

After one of our recent windy, storms, I had a bad water leak in my second story bedroom. I've never had a leak in my house, though my roof is the original slate roof (110 years old). I called three roofing companies
I had heard of, only encountered voicemail, and I left my message. I was worried about another leak with another storm on the horizon. By the next day, none of the companies had returned my call. So, I got on the computer and googled. I came across Excel's website and was intrigued by the good reviews and detailed explanations of several of the roofs they had fixed and replaced. I called that number and left a message for Kevin. Within two minutes, he texted me and told me he was on another phone call and would call me shortly. Five minutes later, he did!! His crew was out the next day, diagnosed and repaired where slates had blown off in three places, and they fixed them in about an hour. You can't even tell there was a repair! In addition to the excellent work, Kevin spent about an hour educating me on roofs, replacing slate roofs with similar material (particularly because I live in the Historic District with more stringent rules), and he helped me understand a lot about different roofs and the related areas that also have to be tended to, such as below the dormers, around the chimney, and the gutters. His detailed pictures and videos on his computer (enhanced by the usage of a drone) aided my understanding. He showed me a few different houses in my neighborhood and talked about their roofs, one of which his company had replaced. I came away from that experience with a lot of new knowledge thanks to Kevin's time in showing and giving me details about roof repair and replacement, a lot of appreciation for Kevin and his team of workers coming out so quickly and repairing my roof, much relief in being called back immediately and the Excel Roofing and Siding team coming to fix my roof after a long day of other jobs they worked on, and gratefulness for the kindness and respect that Kevin and his team of workers gave me. By the way, he charged me nothing, and his men also refused tips. What a classy group of professionals!! I do plan to replace my roof, now that I know it has some damaged wood under the slate. And I will definitely ask Kevin and Excel Roofing and Siding to do the work for me. I recommend them highly to anyone in need of a repair, a new roof, or simply information on what your roof may need.

My husband and I have lived in a "this old house" house for 30 years, and in this time have worked with all kinds of contractors. They've all come with decent references, and they've mostly run the gamut from pretty good to mixed-bag to really bad. There have been a couple of gems.
Excel Roofing and Siding is one of the gems. (Roofers? Who knew.) They did a beautiful job from start to finish. The guys were very professional -- highly skilled, experienced, efficient, organized, courteous, even tidy -- and seemed to take real pride in their work, which is not such a common thing. Kevin, who mans the ship, is naturally skilled at explaining things, and he was informative, patient, and very easy to communicate with -- quick to return calls and emails, and quick to address any concerns. No drama.
I'd give these guys more than five stars if I could. They've been a real pleasure.

Unfortunately, a tree fell and damaged our roof. It was a small repair, but we were concerned that if we did not address it the roof would start leaking in the future. Kevin came out the same day I called him for an estimate. He was straightforward and honest.
